The pleasure of travel without the expense or lost luggage!

On Sunday, October 16, Tyrel Bernardini, a student and active volunteer, will present a program for us about his trips to Peru and Tanzania this past summer.  This will be at Baywood Court and will start at 2:00 and end by 4:30— 21966 Dolores Street in Castro Valley off Grove Way, between Orange and Fifth Street.

SPECIAL LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS EDUCATIONAL FORUM ON PROP 76:

This forum will take place on October 17 from 7-9pm at the San Lorenzo Village Community Hall at 377 Paseo Grande (near Hesperian).  Two of our members, Johan Klehs and Isobel Dvorsky will be covering the NO vote and others will be speaking for the YES vote. Come and become more educated about our propositions on this coming ballot.

A Muslim Woman’s Journey to Freedom

On Tuesday, October 18, there will be a book reading and reception for Samina Ali, a feminist and local author of the popular new book, Madras on Rainy Days.  This event, to be hosted by the English Center for International Women, will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Reinhardt Hall B at Mills College. International refreshments will be served, and there will be a tour of the educational center.  Although admission will be free, a $10 donation is requested to help cover costs.
